I'm now single. Great. She texted me a few hours ago. Apparently the distance made it impossible to continue the relationship, but I don't feel how she does at all. Quite an un-mutual situation. We've never fought, and there was no indication she was upset at all. The suddenness sucked, and the text break-up didn't help. If we're both awake she could have at least Skyped or called me. Oh well. What can you do? Just move on.

Text break ups are the worse. When my first ex and I graduated community college, we ended up going to different schools. She fed me the same line even though it wasn't true.

Long story short, someone like that is a person you're better off moving forward without, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.

best advice I can give.... delete her number from your phone. Unfriend from the face book. Black her out quickly. You don't want to know what she's doing, although you have an idea. Under no circumstances are you to call her. If you happen to bump into her somewhere struggle to remember her name. Even if you have to pretend. Here's how women like to do this... you can't know or ask what or how they're doing because at that point your being a stalker who can't let go. But old girlfriends, that's a different story. Those crazy bitches will call you up ask you to dinner and try and find out everything about your life to validate the shit descision they made.. God forbid you're in a relationship, because that's whey will stop at nothing to get you back, or at the very least have sex with you to prove to themselves they still can. Go ghost on her. Now.

trust this. Similar scenario different technology. Played out the same way a couple times. I've done the research and have charts and graphs to prove it. The faster you move to remove the more off balance shell be. She's not waiting for it. Cut your losses and move on. At this point she brings nothing to the table. Your not losing anything she didn't give up on first.

Now, I may have never dated anyone, but who the hell texts someone they are breaking up with them? Show someone respect and talk to them in person. It always makes me angry. . . like when my friend did that, I lost respect for that man. Grrrrrrr whatever.

Hope you are alright though. I am not sure what I can say that can help, I have never been in this situation before. You gotta keep moving though, good things will come around.

It really does! I couldn't believe it. I've dodged several future bullets, but was broken hearted at the time.

It figures the girl I broke up with is the only 1 that still looks the same practically, has a good head on her shoulders, a good attitude on life, makes 6 figures, and has the best morals/family values/ financial sense out of any of them. I dumped her for a slightly better looking and more "fun" girl at the time. Hindsight really is 20/20. Took me a few years to realize what I gave up. But it was too late then ...someone else already swooped in, married her, and got her pregnant.

My friend broke up with his high school "sweetheart" and freshman year he ended up leaving her a sobbing, pathetic mess of a drunken voicemail after we were 19 and got our hands on a bottle of jaeger and a bottle of vodka. We found out that he is a ......"weepy" drunk. And we also found out I am unusually good at cooking when drunk. The two discoveries were made at different times.
